Waterfalls - Autumn Waterfalls

Waterfalls are one of natures wonders. They usually exist in wild settings among interesting rocks and trees. Have you noticed that the water in some waterfall photographs seems wispy or soft looking, lacking the splash and sparkle one might expect to see? This effect is done by taking a waterfall photograph with a to 2 second exposure. Neutral density filters are used over the camera lens to cut down the light and a tripod is always used.

Watch for the opportunity to photograph man made waterfalls. Water flowing over dams, out of pipes, and spraying up from fountains can make interesting photographic subjects.
